Kevin Stelzer

A leading authority on sustainable design, and high-performance energy solutions.
He has contributed to numerous large-scale and technically complex projects across Canada, the United States, the UAE and China—including serving as Principal-in-Charge for the Humber BLDG Nx Passive House institutional retrofit renewal - a first in North America.
With 23 years of experience, he is recognized as an authority in energy efficiency and building physics. He is a Building Science Specialist of Ontario and Passive House Certified Designer. Has served on the CaGBC Energy & Engineering Technical Advisory Group and on Task Force of the United Nations Environmental Protection – Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative (UNEP-SBCI) concerning greening the building sector supply chain. He currently sits on the CaGBC Embodied Energy Working Committee and the Waterfront Toronto Design Review Committee. He lectures at Ryerson University, University of Toronto and University of Waterloo.
Recent projects include the Passive House Retrofit of Toronto Community Housing 50 Torbolton, Zero Carbon Certified Mohawk College Joyce Centre for Partnership & Innovation, the LEED EBOM Gold renewal of First Canadian Place, the LEED Gold Markham Pan Am Centre, and the LEED Platinum University of British Columbia’s Student Union Building: AMS Nest.
